Frequently Asked Questions about Accounts
A transaction account for domestic payment transactions can be opened by all individuals, including residents and non-residents, while a transaction account for international payment transactions can also be opened by all individuals who receive income or make payments from abroad.
A transaction account is a type of payment account that the Bank opens and maintains on behalf of one or more users of payment services for executing payment transactions and for other purposes.
When submitting the Application for opening a transaction account, the User submits the following documentation to the Bank:
- documentation establishing the identity of the applicant (User) and their citizenship (ID card, passport or another appropriate personal document with a photograph), whereby a foreign citizen and a stateless person must also submit a certified copy of the permit for permanent or temporary residence in Montenegro, or a temporary residence and work permit in Montenegro, or another appropriate document proving uninterrupted residence in Montenegro for one year or longer (the original document is presented for inspection)
- documentation establishing the identity and citizenship of the proxy, i.e. authorised representatives and persons authorised to dispose of funds in the account, to sign payment orders and requests for account information

- documentation establishing the identity of the applicant (User) and their citizenship (ID card, passport or another appropriate personal document with a photograph, or an appropriate document proving statelessness, whereby a Montenegrin citizen submits proof of uninterrupted residence in Montenegro of less than one year, and a foreign citizen or stateless person submits a certified copy of the permit for temporary residence in Montenegro, or a temporary residence and work permit in Montenegro, or another appropriate document proving uninterrupted residence in Montenegro of less than one year; the original document is presented for inspection).
- documentation establishing the identity and citizenship of the proxy, i.e. authorised representatives and persons authorised to dispose of funds in the account, to sign payment orders and account information requests.
Yes. In that case, the Bank establishes the identity of the authorised person and opens the transaction account based on an authorisation certified by a public notary or competent authority, unless otherwise prescribed by applicable laws and regulations, as well as the Bank’s internal acts, and which cannot be older than three months.
You can check your account balance at the Bank’s ATMs. We also offer electronic banking services, through which you can access your account at any time via computer or mobile device
Checking the balance via a phone call does not provide sufficient protection. The balance on all accounts can be obtained through electronic banking services – WEB Banking and M-Banking.
It allows you to use an additional agreed amount on your account with a pre-agreed interest rate.
